In 1935, 99-year-old former slave Shadrach asks to be buried where he was born into slavery — but that land is owned by Vernon (Harvey Keitel, "Pulp Fiction") and Trixie Dabney (Andie MacDowell, "Groundhog Day"), and to bury a black man on their property is a violation of strict Virginia law.
